Wedding Planning Update

This past week I finally received the samples of card stock and envelopes that I had ordered and with the exception of be swatch, they are all exactly what I wanted! I’m in the processor of placing my order and can’t with to actually get started on making my wedding invitations.

This past Monday marked 5 months to the day of our wedding and I began to stress a little. At times I can be a last minute person but not when it comes to my wedding. I emailed my local bridesmaids to set a date to get together to go over some things for the wedding and when we couldn’t decide on a date I had a mini meltdown. But everything’s okay now and for the most part I’m feeling better. We still haven’t decided on the bridesmaid dresses and I’m a little worried but we still have some time left. Kawon and his groomsmen, however, are getting together this month to go find suits so hopefully I’ll be able to mark that off of my to do list.

I also decided that we’re not going to have a cake toppers because I just couldn’t find one that I liked enough and think that flowers will work just fine. We’re also planning on doing a sand ceremony but I wasn’t too fond of just pouring the sand into a plain vase so I found a shadow box that we’ll have engraved to pour the sand into.

Other than that not, much else has been done but hopefully February will be a little more productive. At that time I’ll be able to get much more detailed information from the resort on what my options are as for food, flowers and decor so I can work on some more details for the ceremony and reception. I the meantime though, I’ve been thinking about what I want for my bridal shower and I’m super excited to see how it all comes together.

Wedding Invites

I’m not that much of a DIY’er but after searching the internet for months looking at wedding invitations I’ve decided to make my own.

Being that we’re having a destination wedding I like the boarding pass style invitations or the passport style but wasn’t feeling 100% about the design options. Of course I want something different but there are a million different things out there to chose from. I haven’t actually started working on them yet, but I know what I want and that’s a huge deal for me. Like I’ve said it a million times before I’ve become so indecisive when it comes to choosing what I want for my own wedding.

During the Christmas holiday I decided on the design, went to Michael’s to buy card stock and requested samples of envelopes and additional colored card stock online. I also bought a paper cutter and rounded corner cutter while at Michaels for some other DIY paper projects for the wedding and ordered some washi tape from Etsy as well.

It feels good to have another task checked off of my to-do list! I’m still waiting on my samples to arrive for the paper & envelopes, but as soon as they arrive I can’t wait to get started and see everything come together. I’m still debating whether or not I’ll share the design of the invitations online before I send them out but you’ll get to see the soon enough. : )

5 months and counting!!!

Twenty Thirteen

I was so incredibly blessed in 2012 and I’m looking forward to making lots of new memories in this next year!

There’s so much in store for 2013 for our family and I can’t wait to see what the next 12 months will bring! 2013 will be a busy year and I pray that God allows me to see it through.

To celebrate 2012 coming to a end and welcome the new year Kawon and I went to the San Francisco Rose to celebrate. Kawon was working the karaoke that night and since Kameron was with his grandmother for the evening I didn’t want to stay at home alone so I ventured out too. Totally not planning on going out at all that evening I didn’t have a NYE outfit picked out and I missed the memo on the black & white attire. Oops!

Here’s a glimpse of our night. (Photos courtesy of the The Rose)

We started the year off with a lazy day on the couch and no traditional New Years day food but we were together and that’s all that matters.

Here’s to 2013!
